- Who are you?

Hello, I'm Mykhailo Luhovyi; I live in Kyiv, Ukraine. I work full-time as a product designer, focusing on web design and UX/UI to ensure the user experience aligns with the product's objectives. When I'm not working, I enjoy drawing and doing tattoos for fun and relaxation.

Fun fact: I studied engineering in university, that influenced my approach to design — I like to blend the structured elements of web design with the creativity of drawing. Switching between the two helps prevent burnout.

Also, I'm a basketball fan and a bit of a geek.

- Talk a bit about the collab with us

I wanted to create a unique design for this project. When I finished the traditional design, I realized it wouldn't work for print, so I redrew a digital version on my iPad. I think it looks like a self-portrait. I'm kidding, but who knows? I aimed to make a design that would catch the eye of not just artists but also anyone who is into creativity.

- When and why did you start doing art?

I've loved drawing for as long as I can remember. Creating my own worlds and characters has been a passion since I was a kid. I never formally studied it; I taught myself everything. Now, as an adult, I sometimes take courses and watch lessons to fill in any skill gaps.

- How would you describe your art?

It's tough to explain, but I'm into strange and creepy cartoon characters mostly :)

I mix things I love, like cartoons, comics, horror, and video games.

- What are your main inspirations when you create art?

I love drawing because it helps me escape from the harsh and sometimes scary world we live in. It's my way of relaxing and taking a break.

I really enjoy seeing talented people doing what they love. Whether they're drawing, making movies, creating video games, sculpting, or even cooking – I'm fascinated by their passion and dedication.

- What do you think about street art and graffiti?

I love it! Especially when it's meaningful and visually appealing. But for me, the message is key. I'm not a fan of straight-up vandalism, where the only aim is to ruin a beautiful place, because art is meant to reflect on something and should add something positive to the world. Kyiv has tons of fantastic murals that truly enhance the city's charm. They're inspiring and impressive! I think street art can transform any city into a significant and unique museum.

- Do you have any artists that you look up to now or in the past?

I've never stuck to just one artist. I enjoy all sorts of art, from classic painting to graffiti and tattoos. There are so many incredible artists in each of these areas. Some of my favorites include CanTwo, Banksy, SmugOne, Mark Paul Deren, Miguel Angel, Ben Dunning, Pablo Fontagnier, TYP, and Sara Fasolin. And if you're into tattoos, I also admire Dmitry Samokhin and Steve Butcher.

- Are you a professional artist who can afford art as his only job?

No, I'm not a pro. Creating art is more of a passion project for me, a hobby; sometimes, I do freelance work too. I don't know what the future holds; anything could happen. At this point, I enjoy blending my work with my art — it gives me more freedom, even though it requires extra effort.

- What are your artworks that you are the most proud of so far?

Honestly, I love all of them! It's hard to pick just one. Whenever I set out to make a masterpiece, it never works out. What makes me happy is when someone sees my work and says, "Wow, that's awesome! I want a sticker or a print on my clothes."

- What was your experience in trying to become an artist?

Throughout my life, I've encountered challenges along the way, but nothing sudden. It was tough when I dreamed of turning my passion into a full-time job and earning money. However, things started falling into place once I let go of those doubts and worries.

- What is your advice for people who want to become artists?

Rebel :) Don't be afraid to make mistakes and try new things. Trust yourself, but also be open to feedback and advice. Don't try to please everyone – it's impossible! Instead, be grateful for those who are there for you with their knowledge and skills. Surround yourself with such people!

- What do you think about the philosophy of our brand?

Your brand is all about being bold and a little rebellious. I love the idea of collaborations. I think it's great because it keeps things fresh and exciting; you're always waiting for the next design. It doesn't get boring, and it keeps you interested. Being different, quirky, and unique is always in style.
