Meet RAKS: The New B.Different Clothing Graffiti Mascot
Meet RAKS, the newest addition to the B.Different Clothing gang.
RAKS was designed by our friend Emti, a street artist and illustrator based in Sweden, specialized in character creation. We wanted to create a character that felt like he actually belonged in the world of B.Different Clothing, and Emti brought RAKS to life.
So, who exactly is RAKS?
Meet RAKS
RAKS is a nocturnal little bastard with a talent for getting into places he shouldn't.
When the city goes quiet, he comes out. He roams the streets, raids whatever he can get his paws on, disappears into back alleys and generally fucks shit up. No respect for private property. No interest in permission.
He's curious, opportunistic and always looking for something to get into. Basically, he's got nowhere to be and absolutely no business being there.
Why Is He Called RAKS?
His name comes from racking, graffiti slang for stealing paint and supplies.
Which, given his profession, seemed less like a name and more like a job description.
RAKS.
He racks.
A Graffiti Character With a Purpose
RAKSisn't exactly the type of character you'd expect to find on a fashion brand's logo.
That's kind of the point.
He's out at night, moving through places he's not supposed to be, looking for trouble and leaving his mark behind. There's something about that which feels very familiar to anyone who understands graffiti culture.
RAKS belongs in the streets. He doesn't ask permission. He doesn't worry too much about fitting in.
Neither do we.
From Sketch to RAKS
Creating RAKS wasn't just about drawing a raccoon and putting him on a T-shirt. We wanted him to feel like an actual character with his own personality, attitude and place within the B.Different Clothing universe.
That's where Emti came in.
As a Swedish based street artist and illustrator specializing in character creation, Emti took the initial idea and turned it into the RAKS you see today, developing his shape, expressions, attitude and all the little details that make him feel like more than just a mascot.
From the first sketches to the finished character, RAKS gradually became what we had in mind: a slightly unhinged nocturnal raccoon with a questionable relationship with private property and a natural talent for getting himself into trouble.
And honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better fit.
